I was on my way the the outlet mall and noticed Lombardi's and I just love BBQ and had to stop by. So glad they open at 10AM. I enjoyed the half rack of pork ribs and their bbq baked beans. The ribs were delicious. Get the side of bbq sauce for dipping which is a little sweet and tangy. They have lots of beverages to choose from to go with the meal. The service was good and I look forward to trying their beef ribs.

Anytime we visit the area, we stop here. My BF even joked that if this was closer, we'd be there 3-4 times a week. Their prices are amazing. The sandwich's are always stuffed. Their staff is always friendly and happy to answer any questions we may have. It feels like a mom and pop shop. And during good weather we enjoy sitting in the lawn area and having a picnic. This is a must try spot. You'll definitely love it!

Great dry rubbed ribs. The garlic buttered oysters are good also but only available in the weekends :( Clean and well kept. Recently remodeled I hear from the employees

I have to give so much credit to Lombardi's I've been going there for years. They are not only great bbq, but they are the best for the money anywhere in the Bay Area. Their bbq family dinners are the best deals you can get just about anywhere. Their sandwiches are great and I love the all the other foods they have available in their marketplace. As a disclaimer, I don't love their bbq sauce. I actually buy their ribs and then use my own or buy one of my favorite sauces. Overall, one of my favorite places in Sonoma County!

The bbq oysters and local wine was incredible! Three years later I'm still telling everyone about this place. It was so amazing to be able to order your food, buy some wine and be able to enjoy both on the picnic tables in the front!

We have been to this very popular place a number of times and now that we've tried a range of different things, it's high time I reviewed it. This is a deli and barbecue place which sells sandwiches, other food, drinks, snacks, and more to take but developed a substantial deli service and barbecue. This place is very popular and busy, but we think a bit over-hyped, although it is overall very good and some things excellent. As for barbecue, the trip-tip meal is excellent and a very good value. The trip-tip itself is always excellently prepared, flavourful, moist, etc., and it is large. The salad with it is simple (greens mix) but consistently large and good. 5 stars overall, considering quality and portion for the price, although the salad itself is nothing special. The same is true for the pork ribs and rib meal. The ribs are meaty, smoky, moist, tender, and very flavourful. I've had better but these are excellent. Again, the portion is large for the price. 4.5 stars for the ribs, 5 for the meal as a whole considering quality, amount, and price. Roast pork sandwich is excellent. 4.5 stars overall. The pork is flavourful and juicy, it is well made, and there is plenty of meat. The main negative is that there's too much meat, throwing off the balance of the sandwich, but at least it's plenty of meat for the money and the problem is easily solved by taking some meat out and eating it alone or using it to make a new small sandwich, so I can't complain that there's too much. "Pedroni's" potato salad is excellent, at least for those who grew up with that specific potato salad. This was for decades a staple at the downtown Petaluma deli which for most of its life was Pedroni's, although the recipe (according to insider information given to me; although I have no personal knowledge if it's true) actually came from the German Schneider's deli which preceded Pedroni's. ANywaym, Lombardi's got their hands on it and have for some time made it well. 5 stars. Salmon sandwich is very good. 4 stars. Things are worse with other items. The tri-tip sandwich we had (two on one occasion) was terrible. The trip tip was, unexpectedly, chopped up into little bits and drowned in barbecue sauce, which just made it a wet, one-dimensional, and incurable mess. One could not taste the meat or anything but sauce. It also ended up (being chopped) with large chunks of fat hidden in the sauce and mixed up with the meat. One might be able to remedy this by asking for it to be prepared differently but I am not sure and it would need to be radically different - say sliced meat with sauce on the side. Chopping up tri-tip or brisket in our view is often a suspect approach. The cole slaw is terrible. It is made form pre-shredded cabbage mix, always a bad start since pre-shredded mix becomes dry and can never make anything better than mediocre coleslaw at best. This is not mediocre but terrible. It has too much mayonnaise on it and is loaded up with herbs (thyme, perhaps?), a terrible idea. Coleslaw must be simple and herb-free. This was basically inedible. 1.5 stars. Not the worst I've had, but darn close, and too bad because I think nothing is better with a sandwich or barbecue than proper coleslaw. The place inside is basically just a deli/convience store, so has no ambience. They have room and some seating outside on grass, partially shaded by trees, but with the hordes of people usually eating there and the cars coming/going and zooming by on Petaluma Blvd, the ambience is for us never nice to eat there. We always get our food to go. In brief, an uneven and over-hyped place, but which does some things well, and some extremely well and with large portions for the price. We periodically go here and know what we like to get, and are always happy with those.

I have driven past this restaurant numerous times always wanting to come back and try it. Well, today was the day. We drove up around 4:15pm and found plenty of parking. We walked right up to the restaurant and were shocked to see such an updated deli/ bbq location. This place is nice and clean and offers a pretty big selection of chips, specialty drinks and to go options on top of their regular menu. After some contemplating on our end, we ended up with 6 bbq oysters with butter sauce, a tri tip dinner, a Mexican cola, and an alcoholic tea. They give you a big salad to begin with and then call you up for your grilled selection and beans. We really enjoyed the bbq oysters- they were really well made and the butter sauce was the perfect companion. Next up was the meal- we really loved the large salad with vinaigrette and the tri tip was delicious and perfectly cooked. We do not enjoy sweet beans- but if you like them, then the portion was huge. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. The food was great, service was good and parking was easy. There were just a ton of flies- but I don't think much can be done given the amount of food around and the heat. We will be back!

Every time I'm in Sonoma county, I make sure I stop by Lombardi's. The BBQ is made to perfection. When you drive by and smell the BBQ, not stopping for lunch or dinner is not an option. The sandwiches, the sides, and desserts are all so good too. My favorites are mama Lil's, jalapeño popper pasta salad, the picnic potato salad, sun dried tomato pesto tortellini, caramel turtle cheesecake, and the peanut butter pie. The rib dinner is always a favorite too. But you can't go wrong with anything you order but you may have a hard time picking something. Lots of options for drinks (beer, wine, and non-alcoholic), sides, etc. When the weather is nice, there are lots of picnic tables out on the lawn.
